WHY TAKE THE SATS IN A TEST OPTIONAL ENVIRONMENT?

Even though SATs are not required, there are still several reasons to submit your SAT scores

There are several reasons why you might want to take the SATs, even if it's optional. Some schools that are test optional will outright recommend that you still submit your SAT results if you have them. Additionally, if you're a terrific test taker or your grades are not quite up to snuff, taking the SATs could boost your application. Taking the SATs may also be required for certain intended majors or honors programs and can help expand your choice of colleges1.

Most college admissions officers, including those at test-optional colleges, still value the SAT as part of the admissions process. Even if you think standardized testing isn’t your biggest strength, there are undoubtedly some good reasons to take them. You’ll keep your options open. Most colleges still accept test scores, and most encourage them2,3.

My son has a chronic illness that often forces him to be absent from school. Luis began tutoring my son when he was in his second semester and had begun to fall behind in his Algebra I course. Unlike tutors we'd had before who could barely communicate in English, Luis excels at explaining math with clarity. My son also really liked Luis because he is so funny, kind and enthusiastic. My son not only did well in the class, but he also understood key concepts in math. We are so grateful for Luis's help.
